My time abroad in London was absolutely wonderful. I could not be more thankful to the Ashley Soulé Conroy Foundation for not just helping my dream of living in London come true, but for helping me have this experience where I was really able to grow as a person. Studying abroad allowed me to become more self-reliant, confident and a bit bolder. I went out of my comfort zone as much as I could, trying foods that I would not otherwise try, going to places that I would not otherwise have gone to. I took in the culture that was so unlike my own to the point where I could not be called a tourist by any means. I had my favorite park, restaurant, shop, and museum. I conquered the tube, but by the end of it, I knew the streets like the back of my hand. I really made London my own. And it really sparked this want to continue to not just be a tourist, but a traveller. I took classes that both enhanced and expanded my knowledge of the international community. I had professors that were professionals in the field, classes that were not just held in physical classrooms but in the world itself, and was given opportunities to hear individuals that are prominent to the international community. I am a better student and a better person, thanks to this experience. I feel as if this experience was the first step in many in my journey to become a full-fledged world citizen. I am ready to take on any city, any country, and any culture and really appreciate it for what it is. Thank you once again.
